Smile Makeover With Invisalign®

Smile Makeover With Invisalign®

It is never too late to get the smile you have always dreamed of, and Invisalign® can help you get there. Those with crooked teeth finally have a way to correct their bite, while also showing off the results before treatment has even finished. Invisalign® allows patients with an overbite, crossbite, underbite or even just one or two teeth out of place to achieve a complete smile makeover that dazzles.

No matter what age you are, a smile makeover is always an option. Whether you are a teen looking to straighten your teeth without bulky braces or a busy adult who wants a smile makeover that will not disrupt daily life, Invisalign® can help.

How does Invisalign® work?

Like braces, Invisalign® works to straighten teeth gradually until the desired result is achieved. But there is so much that sets Invisalign® apart from traditional braces. Where braces use a system of wires and brackets to apply pressure to the teeth in order to move them around, Invisalign® uses discreet, virtually invisible plastic trays that are customized to fit the bite. These trays are meant to be worn in periods of one to two weeks, during which a single tray will provide a small adjustment to the teeth that need to be moved. After one tray has completed its job, the next tray takes its place and provides another adjustment, until the final tray, when the smile has been completely straightened.

Unlike braces, Invisalign® does not create a mouth full of metal. The clear aligner system straightens teeth without anyone knowing, other than the wearer. This means that before the smile makeover has even been completed, the patient will be able to show off their corrected bite as it improves each month.

What is Invisalign® used to treat?

Invisalign® can generally treat all the same straightening issues that braces can. Some types of crossbites, underbites and overbites can be dealt with via Invisalign®. Invisalign® is usually used for mild to moderate teeth movements, as more severe straightening treatments will need more pressure applied to teeth (pressure that only metal braces can apply). For children, traditional braces are usually used, as the jawbone has not finished developing and may need to be readjusted during its growth period. Those who do not need jaw adjustments are often great candidates for a smile makeover with Invisalign®.

Those with mild to moderate crossbite, underbite and overbite can see a drastic smile makeover with Invisalign®. Patients can go from twisted, tucked and crooked teeth to a completely transformed, straight smile in just months.

With regular braces, small white spots of tooth decay can appear underneath brackets and wires. When the braces are removed, the smile may not seem as bright as one may wish. But because Invisalign® allows the patient to clean their teeth as they would regularly, without brackets and ligatures getting in the way, the teeth appear brighter when finishing treatment.

Teens, adults and even some children can benefit from the beautiful results provided by a customized Invisalign® treatment. Without brackets, wires and ligatures holding patients back, living life to the fullest in the midst of teeth straightening treatment is effortless with Invisalign®.
